The Rasmus Press conference in Yekaterinburg (RU) - 18.6.09
I: "It's not the 1st time you come here to play. Do you know do you singing changed in the moods; like you remember that one time being felt just wouldn't let you go off stage. Do you know this, anything like that changing or maybe you know this something within yourself or you don't want to sen.. it at all like that ?"Eero: "Well, today when we arrived to the airport in the morning there were couple of fans there greeting us, which was really nice and, you know, it felt like a warm welcome to this place. And of course, I don't know, if the band thought that us out of the stage that's a good thing for us."
Lauri: "Last time when we were here we were having a big after-party after the concert; and we were in the park with some fans, and we played guitar, and they were teaching us some Russian songs, and we were singing together. And was a really cool local way to have a big party and I think also tonight (will be) something like that."
I: "If you watched the game and very very much upset that Finland lost ?"Lauri: "No, I didn't watch the game; but I'm.. really..

Aki: "But we saw it on the news, because there are Finns people fighting against Russian people in Helsinki; Helsinki was a bit like: 'What's it with this mess ?'"
Lauri: "It's, Finland, Helsinki is such a peaceful place, and never these kind of things happen, you know; there is never fights on the streets and like that. So, you are always welcome."
Aki: "Yeah, we like some action."
: "Beh, oggi quando siamo arrivati all'aeroporto in mattinata c'erano un paio di fan lì che ci hanno salutato, cosa che è stata davvero bella e, sai, è sembrato un caldo benvenuto in questo luogo. E, naturalmente, non so, se il gruppo non vuol lasciare il palco è una cosa buona per noi."
Lauri: "L'ultima volta che siamo stati qui abbiamo fatto una grande festa dopo il concerto; ed eravamo nel parco con alcuni fan, ed abbiamo suonato la chitarra, e ci stavano insegnando delle canzoni russe, ed abbiamo cantato insieme. Ed è stato davvero bello, un modo tipico del luogo per fare una grande festa e penso che anche stasera ci sarà qualcosa del genere."
I: "Se avete guardato la partita siete molto molto delusi dal fatto che la Finlandia ha perso ?" (

Lauri: "No, non ho guardato la partita; ma sono.. molto..

Aki: "Ma lo abbiamo visto nelle news, perché ci sono dei finlandesi che stavano litigando con dei russi a Helsinki; Helsinki era un po' come: 'Che sta accadendo con tutta questa confusione ?'"
Lauri: "La Finlandia, Helsinki è un luogo così tranquillo, e questo tipo di cose non accadono mai, sapete; non ci sono mai delle lotte per strada e cose del genere. Così, siete sempre i benvenuti."
Aki: "Sì, ci piace un po' di azione."

Sometimes, I'm feel on my way drinking in the early in the morning, sometimes I go with my boat with Eero, the bass player. We go fishing together before anyone else is awake enough, you know, we are the first ones to be out like 5 o'clock minus 30 we go fishing. That feels like to me that I'm living, you know, my life, I'm doing different things every and each day."
"Well, sometimes I go travelling, I play my guitar, to go alone with my guitar, make new songs. I've been, last time I went to Venice, in the beautiful place I hope one to go there. It's kind of very inspiring."
"Russia is really one of the best country find for The Rasmus, we have so many fans there. And I think we've been in Russia at last 5, 6 time already. And now we are here together with Scorpions and Alice Cooper, and I'm really proud to be part of this big Tour. It kind, I've been a big fan of both, at least fan before, I’m fan from 15 years ago when we put the band together."
"Very much alive. I think the Rock, Rock music is still the most selling music style in the world. You know, sometimes, feels like Hip Hop and things like that are taking over. But in the big picture I think Rock Music is there, the only thing that really going strong, year after year."
"Maybe in Finland people are not so much into fashion; I think like in Sweden for example, there's lot of people who know what kind of music you should be to me at moment, and what’s hit, and what’s cool. But in Finland people are.. you know, we like old things, and that's maybe the secret."
"People have to decide whether they should follow their dreams or, sort of, get a real job and someone, no more crazy life. So my.. is like, you should live in your own things and things will happen. So up to you, you might yourself, how much you work for it."
"Yes, we are trying to play a lot of songs because we have already released 7 albums. And I will try to play one song from each and every album, with that, so kind of be, cool surprise."
"Well, not too many actually. But I think the traditional music that we made in Finland, the last 100 years or so it's very much based on Russian melodies. That's something similar, people like the same kind of melancholic melodies."
"Well, I'm into the architecture. And it's very hard to me to remember the name of the buildings, there are so much there. This, the beautiful buildings we.. lot of buildings to be built in Russia, and.. that's kind of my secret hobby, I'm really interested in architecture, I buy a book wherever travelling in the world. And Russia has really beautiful buildings."
"Yeah, I hope to see you all at the concerts. We're gonna need a lot of support because we're playing together with Alice Cooper and Scorpions. So, we want to see as many The Rasmus fans there as possible."
"Yes, they are back now. You will to see it this time."

I: "Oh Lauri, sei tu ? Non speravo per nulla che sarebbe stato così semplice telefonarti. Sono Fadej da Ekaterinburg. Ho per te alcune domande, se non ti disturbo ?"Lauri: "Sì, inizia, uomo."
I: "Innanzitutto ti ho chiamato sul cellulare. Dove ti ho trovato ?""Sono andato in palestra; mi sono svegliato alle 7, ho fatto degli esercizi fisici. A volte mi trovo per strada a bere fino alle prime ore del mattino, a volte vado con la mia barca con Eero, il bassista. Andiamo a pescare insieme prima che tutti gli altri siano abbastanza svegli, siamo i primi ad uscire alle 4 e 30, andiamo a pescare. In questo modo a me sembra che stia vivendo la mia vita, faccio cose diverse proprio ogni giorno."
I: "E cosa accade quando hai del tempo libero, cosa fai ?""Beh, a volte viaggio, suono la mia chitarra, viaggio da solo con la mia chitarra, compongo nuove canzoni. Sono stato, l'ultima volta sono andato a Venezia, in un posto molto bello e spero di andare là. E' un luogo che dà molta ispirazione."
(Sono stato anche in Africa solo per suonare la chitarra in dei bei posti, per conoscere altre culture. Quando ho bisogno di ispirazione, viaggio in solitudine e così compongo delle canzoni).I: "E che impressioni avete avuto al vostro arrivo in Russia ?""La Russia è davvero uno dei migliori paesi che abbiamo trovato per i The Rasmus, abbiamo così tanti fan là. E credo siamo stati in Russia almeno già 5, 6 volte. Ed ora siamo qui insieme agli Scorpions ed Alice Cooper, e sono molto orgoglioso di far parte di questo grande Tour. Sono stato un grande fan di entrambi i gruppi; sono fan da 15 anni, da quando abbiamo formato il gruppo."
(Così questo per me ed i The Rasmus è un momento di grande responsabilità)I: "Volevo chiederti, secondo le tue sensazioni, il rock 'n roll è vivo oggi o no ?""Davvero molto vivo. Credo che il Rock, la musica Rock è ancora lo stile musicale che vende di più nel mondo. A volte sembra che l'Hip Hop e cose del genere prevalgano. Ma nel quadro generale credo che la musica Rock sia là, l'unica cosa che sta diventando davvero forte, anno dopo anno."
I: "A proposito, vorrei chiederti del 'Fenomeno finlandese'. Come mai secondo te, perché in Finlandia la Musica Rock ha una così grande popolarità, cosa che in altri paesi d’Europa è inutile da paragonare ?""Forse in Finlandia la gente non segue molto la moda
(e cercano la qualità); tipo in Svezia, per esempio, c'è molta gente che sa che tipo di musica si ascolta in quel momento, qual è la canzone di successo, cos’è bello. Ma in Finlandia
(ci sono poche persone interessate a quello che si sente in giro). Amiamo le vecchie cose,
(che abbiamo apprezzato nel tempo). E forse questo è il segreto."
I: "Ben detto !! Lauri mi sembra che chiunque salga sul palco non ha nessun messaggio per il mondo, delle idee base di creatività. Cosa lascerete al pubblico, di cosa vorreste informarlo ?" "La gente deve decidere se seguire i loro sogni o avere un vero lavoro
(e guadagnare dei soldi), non una vita matta. Così il mio consiglio è che dovreste vivere le vostre cose e le cose accadranno. Così dipende da te, da quanto potresti fare, quanto lavori per esso."
(voglio solo dire che è necessario credere nei sogni e non soltanto in ciò di cui si ha bisogno, ma anche a quello che arriverà)I: "Bene ! Avete preparato delle sorprese per i fan in Russia ?""Sì, stiamo cercando di suonare molte canzoni perché abbiamo già pubblicato 7 album. E cercherò di suonare una canzone proprio da ogni album, così questa sarà una bella sorpresa."
I: "E sai, sono stato a due concerti in precedenza a Ekaterinburg e voi avete cantato ogni volta una canzone in russo. Se non mi sbaglio, era Kalinka Malinka (

E conoscete altre canzoni russe ?""Beh, non molte in realtà. Ma credo che la musica tradizionale che abbiamo fatto in Finlandia all'incirca negli ultimi 100 anni è molto basata su melodie russe, sicuramente è molto simile. Alla gente piacciono lo stesso tipo di melodie malinconiche."
I: "Lauri, non posso evitare di chiederti una domanda che tutti i russi fanno agli stranieri: cosa sai della Russia ?""Beh, ho molto interesse per l'architettura. Ed è molto difficile per me ricordare il nome degli edifici, ce ne sono tanti là. Questi begli edifici, ne sono stati costruiti tanti in Russia e.. ed è un po' il mio hobby segreto; ho molto interesse per l'architettura, compro un libro ovunque viaggio per il mondo. E la Russia ha molti edifici davvero belli."
I: "E' stato interessante vedere la Russia attraverso i tuoi occhi. Potrebbe essere necessario per te scrivere un libro sull'architettura ? E cosa vorresti dire proprio ora ai tuoi fan a Ekaterinburg ?""Spero di vedervi tutti ai concerti. Avremo bisogno di molto supporto perché suoneremo insieme ad Alice Cooper ed agli Scorpions. Così vogliamo vedere quanti più fan dei The Rasmus là è possibile."
I: "Non dimenticare che io sono uno di loro ! Parlando di questo, la mia domanda principale: ai 2 concerti dei The Rasmus a cui sono stato, noi, sfortunatamente, non abbiamo visto le tue famose piume sulla testa. Le vedremo questa volta ?""Sì, sono ritornate ora. Le vedrete questa volta."
