THE NEW ALBUM "DARK MATTERS" WILL BE PUBLISHED ON 22.9.2017

Internationally one of the most successful Finnish bands, The Rasmus, will release their new album on September 22nd. "Dark Matters" is produced by the Swedish producer team The Family.
"The idea behind the new songs was to go out to do the kind of music that we would like to hear. We have not forgotten the melancholy of the north, but in addition, our new songs have a wide range of influences. Dark Matters is like a roller coaster of many kinds of moods and personal feelings," says Lauri Ylönen.

After releasing his latest album, "The Rasmus" in 2012, the band stayed for a while. The band's soloist Lauri Ylönen moved to Los Angeles during that time, reflecting the man in the songs he wrote after that. The new album's songs also include the breakthroughs of Lauri and the band's guitarist Pauli Rantasalmi.

"The lyrics in the album are very varied as they reflect the issues we face over several years-from the top-of-the-line life to the gloomy moods. In addition, in a few paragraphs, the world is being watched, both from a child's point of view and imagination."

With the new album, the band is also on the way to a world tour. "We're going to be gigging heavily in 2017 and 2018. We will start a tour of Europe in November 2017 and in 2018 there will be many gigs around the globe." Ylönen is happy with the upcoming schedule. In Finland, The Rasmus will be able to see next time at the Rauhamies Midsummer Festival on Saturday 24 June.

NEW MUSIC VIDEO

The first single, "Paradise", released in the album, is a video that will be released on the band's YouTube channel on a Sunday afternoon, at 00:30 on the weekend. The video directed by Gustav Olsson has been filmed in southern Sweden in the spring of 2017.
